Mapping Out/Elite Skills
So I used the Mapping Out program to get Tyria and Cantha Elite Skill Titles. Now I go back to do Night Fall and when I load Mapping Out it crashes on me . I tried to update with no luck. Does anyone know if Mapping Out is still the most current/best option when it comes to Elite Skill capping. Please don't just tell me to make a checklist I'll come down to that if worse comes to worse.
Hax? thanks for the idiot post. This program does not interact with the game whatsoever. Last edited by travis ranger; Jun 16, 2010 at 01:25 AM // 01:25.. |

Perhaps your Mapping Out program is corrupted. Have you tried a fresh install?

I'd stay away from 3rd party programs these days, given the recent events. But, on the plus side - you have a wonderful wiki that makes Elite skill capping really easy.
-quick reference for all elite skills, to quickly check which you have and which you're missing -each explorable area's entry has a list of bosses and elite skills that can be captured off them at the lower end of the text Really, it's simple enough. I know, I did it not so long ago. |

Mapping Out is a completely separate program that does not rely on or interact with GW in any way whatsoever. It does not require GW to be running or even installed. Avoiding it as a "3rd party" program makes about as much sense as avoiding using your "3rd party" word processor or spreadsheet to keep track of elites.

OMG! Firefox is a 3rd party program too! I'd better not open my browser while playing (or press F10 in-game).
On topic - best bets: - re-download & re-install - MO may have been corrupted, or it has problems with some new driver or Windows update - or use the various wiki resources to track elites. |

Here is a link to version 4.0 download site. The mappingout.com site expired but Aylee explained on his guild's forum that he had set this one up. http://cid-4c18f032b8b2e1b0.skydrive...ic?sa=26441659
Be sure to back up your folders so that you can restore any existing information. If you have an older version that needs updating then select the La Ruota del Tempo which is the forum site. This program is more than just a spreadsheet. It has detailed maps showing boss locations with their elite skills and greens, pets, collectors with their offerings, and Nightfall free treasures, all sortable by location. The skills tracking is done per character giving you a single source for all your account information.

Thanks guys i ended up just wiping it from my computer and doing a full reinstall and it seems to be working fine. I feel like kind of an idiot for not trying that in the first place haha.
Thanks |

and for the people that actually think wiki is better for Skill capping then mapping out, I'd say Try mapping out and you'll be surprised!
